Kaweco EBONIT Sport – a tribute to 140 years of Kaweco
The origins of Kaweco's writing instruments date back to 1883. For 140 years, Kaweco has been making history with high-quality writing instruments, making it one of the oldest brands in the industry. A legacy that is still reflected in its product language today. Then as now, the following principle has been groundbreaking: to design writing instruments with dedication and love that remain a beloved and faithful companion in everyday life, even after many years.
With the Kaweco Ebonit Sport, we'll take you on a journey through time. Not only does the shape of this popular sports model draw inspiration from products from over a hundred years ago, but the material itself also has a historic origin. At a time before injection molding had yet been invented, both wood and hard rubber were the materials of choice for writing instruments. The name "ebonit" derives from the English translation of ebony, which is very similar to hard rubber in terms of color and hardness. The expressive marbling and the highly polished surface further enhance the look of a precious wood. The composition of the fountain pen material, with natural rubber and sulfur, is entirely of natural origin. The combination with gold elements reinforces the nostalgic character of the fountain pen and activates the warm brown grain. An elaborate burin engraving perfectly rounds off the historic design. The Ebonit fountain pen comes standard with a gold-plated steel nib made in Germany.
The limited-edition set perfectly complements the pen with a nostalgic gold clip for securely attaching the pen to your writing surface. In addition to the standard royal blue ink cartridge in the fountain pen, a practical 10-pack contains all Kaweco ink colors for personalizing your writing. All of this is housed in packaging inspired by cardboard boxes from over a hundred years ago.
Note: The sulfur contained in the writing instrument ensures that over time, each writing instrument develops a unique color, making it a unique collector's item. A simple polish can restore the original condition.
Note: Due to the hand polishing of the surface, the size of the pen with the cap on can vary between 12 cm and 13 cm.
